Today, non-invasive, ultrasonic flow measurement is only an outsider measuring technique in the technical sense: Clamp-on ultrasonic transducers are simply attached to the outside of the pipe – without any interruption to operation or any risk of leakage. As our products meet the highest requirements of industrial production, namely the highest level of safety for people and the environment on the one hand and the highest level of plant availability on the other, the former outsiders have long since become extremely popular.

Non-invasive measuring technology with SIL certification

FLEXIM has successfully been setting the pace of this development for 25 years. With our flow meters, we not only demonstrated convincingly that the non-invasive measuring technology works reliably and precisely, in the same time we continuously extended its range of applications.

We at FLEXIM, are particularly proud of our pioneering work carried out to transfer the clamp-on ultrasonic technology to the non-invasive flow measurement of gases. Today, FLEXIM is the only supplier of clamp-on ultrasonic systems for non-invasive flow measurement of liquids and gases with SIL certification worldwide.

Innovative process analytics

For many years, FLEXIM has stood for more than just flow measurement. Clamp-on ultrasonic technology is also suitable for the purposes of process analytics, such as for non-invasive concentration measurement. And with the PIOX R process refractometer, FLEXIM has developed a unique optical instrument that has proven itself worldwide in industrial applications.

Like FLUXUS and PIOX, FLEXIM itself also has a strong global presence with 19 subsidiaries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia as well as a comprehensive network of sales partners. At the company headquarters in Berlin, a highly modern production and development centre in line with its sustainable energy concept is currently under way.

Permanent Flowmeters for Liquids

FLEXIM's liquid flow meter series FLUXUS F sets the standards for non-invasive metering of liquid media. Clamped on to the pipe wall outside, the bi-directional flow measurement system measures any kind of liquid - even at extreme pipe temperatures from -190 °C up to 600 °C. Furthermore, the system is independent toward pressure peaks, vortexes, lateral or pulsating flows and does not cause any pressure drops. Even the flow measurement of liquids with entrained solids and gases is not a challenge for FLEXIM.

By integrating additional process parameters, such as temperature, the FLUXUS flowmeters are also capable of measuring the mass flow rate and can be operated as an instrument for accurate non-invasive media detection.

Accuracy and reliability are one of our strong propositions. Our ultrasonic transducers are specifically matched, paired and feature an integrated temperature compensation, thus guaranteeing a high zero stability as well as high precision at very high but also very low flow velocities

Clamped on to the pipe wall outside, the bi-directional flow measurement system measures any kind of gas, is independent toward pressure peaks, vortexes, lateral or pulsating gas flows and does not cause any pressure drops. Even the flow measurement of wet gas is not a challenge for FLEXIM.

By integrating additional process parameters such as pressure and temperature, the FLUXUS gas flowmeters are also capable of measuring the mass flow rate as well as operational and standard volume flows with highest precision.

Thermal Energy and Compressed Air Flow Measurement Solutions

The portable or permanent FLUXUS CA Energy flow meters are the ideal solutionsfor measurement tasks within the scope of complete energy management systems within industrial applications and buildings technology.

The CA Energy flow meters offer an unrivalled accuracy and reliability when quantifying flow rates of thermal energy and compressed air as well as other process gases - during the highest and lowest flow rates as well as at very high and low pressurised pipes independent of the pipe's dimensions and materials.

As of its two measurement channels, the meters are not affected by non-ideal measurement points with short in- and outlet straight lines and disturbed flow profiles, are not causing any pressure losses inside the pipes and can never be the source of leaks by themselves.

PIOX Process Analysers

Real time concentration, density and mass flow measurement

FLEXIM's range of PIOX process analysers consist of the non-invasive PIOX S ultrasonic metering system as well as the inline process refractometer PIOX R.

PIOX S is primarily used for the non-invasive online concentration, density and mass flow measurement of chemically aggressive, corrosive, abrasive or ultra-pure media. The Inline Process Refractometer PIOX R measures a liquids concentration by the measurement of light refraction and is also a well-established method of choice for determining the concentration, density and purity of many liquids within the Chemical Industry as well as in the Food & Beverage sector.

Both PIOX systems are also often used complementary to each other in case to cover full concentration ranges, where either PIOX S or PIOX R won't be sufficient or in case of a multiphase mixture, where the concentration levels of several different media have to be monitored simultaneously.
